50 Electric buses in Ghaziabad for last mile connectivity to Rapid Metro Stations
There has been instances wherein major metro projects and many metro stations lack last mile connectivity. So it is with this intent we have offered suggestions to the urban development department to rationalize the routes for the proposed electric bus service to meet last mile connectivity in Ghaziabad, said an official of NCRTC.
The NCRTC has sent a proposal to up urban development department to connect rapid metro stations to their localities through electric buses.
NCRTC has already designed its rapid rail stations to accommodate city buses. The 82 km, Delhi –Ghaziabad- Meerut RRTS route from Sarai Kale Khan In Delhi to Modipuram in Meerut will have eight RRTS stations in Ghaziabad. The priority stretch is of 17 km, that is from Sahibabad to Duhai , will be connected by electric buses from localities to rapid metro stations. In Ghaziabad there is a plan to introduce 50 electric buses in the city, which would ply on 6 routes. The operation is expected to start by October 2020.
